Our updated leaflet, 'What are Addison's disease and adrenal insufficiency?' is to help spread awareness to the general public, about these rare conditions.

The leaflet covers the causes of Addison's and adrenal insufficiency, the role of the adrenal glands and essential steroid hormones, and the effect that these conditions can have on day-to-day life.

Giving this leaflet to those around you is a great way of educating them about the things that affect you if you are living with Addison's or adrenal insufficiency.  The language is purposefully straight forward and it is intended to be an introduction rather than an 'everything you need to know' leaflet.

We have also introduced our mascot 'Addy', who keeps our leaflet engaging and points out some 'Did you know' facts about Addison's and adrenal insufficiency

Authored by the ADSHG, with review by the Clinical Advisory Panel (CAP), a group of endocrinologists with an interest in adrenal medicine.
