Hosting a Members' Local Meet-Up Our charity supports a variety of informal local meet-ups across the United Kingdom. These meet-ups are hosted by local charity members and offer a wonderful opportunity to connect with others affected by Addison's and adrenal insufficiency as well as share experiences, offer support and enjoy some laughter together. They take place in a diverse range of venues, from cafes, community halls, pubs or occasionally in a host's home. They provide an opportunity to talk with others over tea, coffee and cake. ADSHG Events "There were questions from the more recently diagnosed, and others were happy to share their experience. One member was involved in research and shared some interesting facts and pointers with us. There was plenty of light-hearted chat and sharing too, and we all agreed it had felt a very supportive and enjoyable meeting. We even went over time!" Meet-up host, Carol "We had a full house on a November afternoon, welcomed many old friends, and were delighted to meet a newly diagnosed member. These meetings are so important - whether newly diagnosed or living with Addison’s for years, we all learn so much from each other. I feel so lucky to be part of such a welcoming group, sharing laughter, delicious cakes, and tips for managing Addison’s disease."
