We're excited to invite you to our Manchester Injection Training (morning session) and Member Get-Together (afternoon session), to be held on Saturday 26 September 2026. All affected by adrenal insufficiency, Addison's and those who support them are welcome!

This event is made possible thanks to the Big Give Small Charity Week 2025 campaign, championed by Global’s Make Some Noise. We are hugely grateful to everyone who donated and to the Big Give for match-funding those contributions. See our campaign page here.

For this Manchester event, we are offering an opportunity to attend an optional injection training session in the morning, before the main conference. We then have a fantastic line-up for our informal conference in the afternoon, with valuable input from some of the key movers and shakers in the world of Addison's and adrenal insufficiency.

Our 2026 Manchester Programme

For maximum flexibility, we are hosting a 'modular' event which gives you the chance to attend an optional Injection Training session in the morning and/or our Member Get-Together in the afternoon.

You can choose to register for just the Injection Training (your ticket includes a light sandwich snack and a free ADSHG Injection Training Kit), just the Member Get-Together conference in the afternoon (your ticket includes tea/coffee and light refreshments) or to register separately to attend BOTH.

The programme features:

Morning Session (starts 11.30):

An optional emergency injection training session in the morning, led by endocrine nurses, ahead of the afternoon Get-Together. This is for those who are able to manage a longer event and wish to refresh their injection skills.

Afternoon Session (starts 13.30):

  • Conference Medical Speaker: Dr Susana Paul-Stols, Dynamic Therapeutics & University of Bristol. Dr Paul-Stols will tell us more about U-rhythm, a portable hormone collection device that can perform continuous hormone sampling over a 24 hour period (whilst you sleep, work, eat etc.). This means that we can get a better understanding of what normal hormone physiology is and use this information to inform hormone replacement in the future or to diagnose endocrine disease.
  • Expert Q&A panel with input from both adult and paediatric endocrine specialists
  • Breakout groups led by experts on your top topics: one breakout group will focus on young people with adrenal insufficiency, for young people and their families. The second breakout group topic is awaiting confirmation.
  • Meet other members of the community
  • ADSHG Updates & News

We have timed our Member Get-Together afternoon programme to start after lunch (13.00) and we will serve ltea/coffee on arrival with further tea/coffee, pastries and fresh fruit in the mid-afternoon break.

What's included?

Medical Speaker: Dynamic Therapeutics U-rhythm wearable technology device

Breakout Groups (45 mins)

Join small group discussions led by experts, where you can learn and share with others! This year our topics are: Adrenal Insufficiency in Young People and Health & Lifestyle/Medication Management (yet to be confirmed).

You will be asked to select your preferred group when you register for your tickets.
Adrenal Insufficiency in Young People

Emergency Injection Training

Feedback from our Member Get-Togethers in 2025 highlighted the value of having more time to chat with other attendees, and longer for asking questions of our healthcare representatives. Feedback also made it clear that people would also find a longer programme too intense/tiring.

For these reasons, and importantly, to increase the number of people able to access our Emergency Injection Training, we have now separated out our Injection Training programme, so that the Get-Togethers offer more opportunity for breaks and chatting to other attendess.

For those that would like to attend an Injection Training event, as well as the Member Get-Together, on this occasion, we are delighted to offer a training session in the morning BEFORE the afternoon 'conference'. This will be delivered by endocrine nurses and will be focused on practising emergency injections.

How much does the Injection Training cost?

Members: £12, Non-Members £16

All attendees for the Injection Training, will receive (as part of their ticket), an ADSHG Injection Training Kit (worth £14.00) to take home for future practicing.

As there is just one hour between the end of the Injection Training (12.30) and the start of the Member Get-Together (13.30), it also includes a light sandwich lunch at 12.30.
